December 2014

It’s hard to believe the first trimester has already come to a close. It was great meeting the freshmen and getting to know the upperclassmen even better. With 12 weeks under our belts, everyone is pretty much settled into the new routine of trimesters and everything that goes along with that. We are headed into the coldest, darkest time of the year, but we strive to keep school bright and cheerful here at MVHS. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a successful second trimester!

Thanks for visiting my page! This is my 8th year teaching health here at Mountain Valley High School. I am an MVHS alumni, and it is a pleasure to be teaching students from my hometown. After graduating high school in 2002, I attended the University of Maine at Farmington, majoring first in Early Childhood Education before realizing my passion for health. I truly believe that health is the most important topic to learn about in school. If you do not know how to take care of yourself and stay healthy, you will not achieve your highest quality of life possible. My goal is to help students realize that many of the choices they make in life today will effect their health in the future, and that establishing healthy habits at a young age is extremely important. In addition to teaching health, I advise a student group here at the high school called Peer Helpers and captain a Relay For Life Team comprised of students. Our team name is Falcons Vs. Cancer.
