Señor Reed is a native Spanish speaker who is constantly eager to share his cultural experiences with his students. He brings the Spanish-speaking world to his students via artwork, dance, music, social customs, guess speakers, as well as Spanish cuisine. As an exceptional cook, he is enjoys sharing traditional Mexican cuisine with his students and staff, including his secret salsa, tamales, empanadas, enchiladas, agua de jamaica, horchata, and pastel de tres leches.
Señor Reed is one of a handful of Teacher Leaders for the State of Maine. He serves in a State Initiative, the Foreign Language Association of Maine (FLAME), the Maine Department of Education (MDOE), and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and provides one on one or workshop trainings to foreign language teachers in standard–based curriculum, instruction and assessments.
Señor Reed’s free time is dedicated in providing information and advocacy for the Hispanic Community within the State of Maine. Information can include referrals, interpretation or translation services and outreach work. He also enjoys traveling, to Central America, his passion lie in serving the poor, and underprivileged people in missionary work.
